How to create an email address
Is there anyone out there who doesn't have an email address? Probably not. In today's increasingly digitalized world, something like this is inconceivable. We need it to communicate, register on platforms, study and work... Luckily, creating an email address is very simple, within anyone's reach.
Even if you already have an email address, you may be thinking of opening a new one to give it a different use. In this article we explain step by step how to do it on the Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo platforms. Although there are many others, these are the three most popular and widely used.
Create an email with GMail
One of the best options if you are thinking of creating a new email address is Gmail, one of the most used email services in the world. Among its main advantages are its simple interface, its integration with other Google services and 15 GB of free storage.
These are the steps to follow to create an email with GMail:
First, open your browser and access the gmail.com website.
Then, click on the “Create account” button.
Next, enter your first and last name, date of birth, and gender. You also choose a username for your email address. If the name you want to use is already taken, Gmail will suggest some alternatives.
Then, you must create a secure password and confirm it.*
You must also enter an alternative email address (if you have one) through which you can recover the account in case of problems.
Finally, accept the conditions by clicking on “Accept” to complete the registration.
After creating the account, you can personalize it by adding a profile photo, organizing the inbox according to your own tastes and preferences, or exploring services such as Google Drive and Google Calendar.
(*) For greater security, Gmail usually asks you for a phone number. It is not mandatory to provide it, although it is recommended.

In some cases, before continuing with the process, Outlook may ask us to verify our identity through a phone number or a security code that will be sent to another email address.
Finally, you need to configure your account and explore the various Outlook features.
